Mr. Sturgeon purchased the car at the world famous Monterey Sports & Classic Car Auction run by RM Auctions during the same week he attended the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, one of the world’s top classic car shows.
“Many collectors wanted this little red ‘65 because it is one of the few from that year with factory air,” explained Sturgeon.
“We’re delighted to have it and expect it to be among our most popular classic cars very quickly.”
