Ferrari will unwrap the third and newest F430 varient at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
The spartan two seater is projected to weigh about 220 pounds less than the current F430 and to be so fast that it will be a must have for Dallas car enthusiasts.
Because it’s a Ferrari, it will have a raft of technology adapted from Formula 1. Gizmag.com’s review lists the Superfast software that reduces shift times to a 60 millisecond micro blink as just one of the highlights.
Michael Schumaker will do the unveiling in Frankfurt…

Opel has started the transformation of an unused factory in Russelsheim into a showplace for the company’s more that 300 classic cars.
The redevelopment will include making the new car museum part of a bid to make the German city into a destination for car enthusiasts and to capture the title of Germany’s car city.
According to a posting from our friends at Edmunds Online, the new exhibit will feature classic cars, production models, racing cars, design studies, concept cars, and motorcycles.
The space will also include a hotel, shopping, and spaces for private collections or classic cars.
It should certainly be something that our Dallas classic car rental and Dallas car club clients will want to put on their must see list when they visit Russelsheim.

Bugatti recently announced that it was lifting annual production of its Veyron hypercar from the current 60 units per year to 75, but there’s been no word on whether the full run of 300 cars will be changed. We now have news that Bugatti will be adding a topless Targa model to its lineup that will be produced in an ultra exclusive run of 80 cars, according to Autogespot.
As previewed in this rendering, the Veyron Targa won’t be a complete convertible but will instead sport a removable roof design similar to the topless versions of the Porsche Carrera GT or Koenigsegg CCX. The Veyron Targa will likely feature a detachable glass roof that has to be stored away from the car before driving, but if the weather turns nasty a fabric cover would be available that can be pulled into place.
Without the roof the car will require added reinforcements and underbody changes to maintain torsional rigidity. These changes will come at a minor cost to performance, and top speed is said to be limited to 217mph (350kmh).

I went with my parents to a toy museum and got the suprise of all time. The museum was DFW Elite Toy Museum in Fort Worth. We pull up and walk inside, I am expecting it to stink and be dirty like most small museums, boy was I wrong. We go in and along with some pretty cool toys there are a ton of REALLY COOL CARS! This museum is inside the DFW Elite Auto Rental.com’s showroom. They have Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, Bentley’s, tons of Mercedees, Aston Martin’s, even a Ford GT. It was so cool. I walked through with my cell phone and took pics of me with all these awsome cars. My husband was so jealous when I got home that he promised I take him sometime.
If you are ever in the Dallas Fort Worth area, you have GOT to check this place out. You can even rent the cars just like at Avis. Now there’s a thought!!

I do enjoy reading articles about artist and where their careers might lead them and the legacy they might leave behind. It must be a big rush to be a designer that has the privilege to have a design become real. This mention is on Roger Hector President & Chief Designer of Anteros Coachworks Inc. His background is listed below.
Roger Hector is an artist and a graduated of the Art Center College of Design. He has an honours degree in automotive design and his paintings have been featured in museums, publications, fine art galleries, shows and private collections all across the world. He regularly creates commissioned automotive fine art for collectors and car owners worldwide.

With the building of this beautiful piece of work puts Anteros Coachwork’s in the class of supercar production.
Chief Designer Roger Hector has personally overseen all aspects of design, production, and finishing. Now this is an example of applying the touch of the artist. It looks like the Morgans have completed their journey. The classic British sportscars are finishing up the Pub Crawl with a welcome parade down Ridgefield’s Main Street and a party hosted by Mary and Bennett Shuldman.
They are proud owners of a 2003 Morgan Plus 8. The hometown paper did a better job of having some really good shots of Mary and Bennett and their Morgan.

Alex Nunez at Autoblog always has a good story to tell.
He has written a very cool post on an inventive young lass from the UK who arrived at prom in a Volvo NH12-480 Big Rig. Bethany impressed Volvo enough that they sent a press release about her smooth prom move!

Texas promgoers have been on to the trend of creating a Lone Star-sized entrance for a few prom seasons now. But–by any standard–the Volvo Big Rig is a head turner.
For partygoers without a Dad who drives a big rig, there is still a great way to pull of an arrival that stops traffic.
Many Texas promgoers get to the big dance courtesy of a CXT rental in Dallas from dfweliteautorental.com. It’s a unique way to make a memorable arrival or departure at a Dallas prom or graduation!
Check some cool photos of the CXT rental and some happy clients from this year’s Dallas prom season:

Introduced as a concept car a few years ago in Geneva, Volvo has not only announced the production of the sporty C30 hatchback, it has announced that this car will come to America later this year.Due in showrooms in summer 2007 as a 2008 model, the C30 is a three-door hatchback that’s some 9 inches shorter than Volvo’s current small car in the U.S., the S40 sedan.
Targeted at young and young-at-heart drivers, the C30 will be powered by a 218-horsepower turbocharged five-cylinder T5 gasoline engine with 236 lb-ft of torque available from 1500 to 4800 rpm.
According to Volvo officials, the turbocharged engine makes the lightweight C30 accelerate from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in 6.2 seconds.
At the North American debut in Los Angeles, Volvo Cars of North America President Anne Belec said the company wants “to bring new customers in when they are young” and hope to keep them in Volvo vehicles over the years.
The C30 seats four, with individual, bucket-style, back seats that are moved a bit toward the center to provide forward visibility around the front seats.
Belec said Volvo will offer a variety of accessories for young, active buyers, including snowboard and bicycle racks. Also offered will be optional two-tone body kit combinations that can add contrasting-color lower body pieces.
Volvo’s Senior Vice President and Design Director Steve Mattin said the company decided to put this option into production after receiving good response on the subtle two-tone appearance on the C30 concept car.
As with all Volvos, the C30 will offer plentiful safety features including curtain airbags, anti-whiplash front head restraints and advanced body structure.
The company will announce pricing closer to the C30 on-sale date.

The look of the XLR-V is changed by adding polished wire-mesh upper and lower grilles, a sculpted hood, four stainless-steel exhaust tips and 10-spoke aluminum wheels with a sterling silver finish. Well I just don’t know which side to be on in the bio-ethanol question. Though Barwell is having to defend itself against the other teams (the sore losers) claim that the bio-ethanol Aston Martin DBRS9 does not have a performance advantage.
I believe that when the Aston Martin racing decided to run the car in the sanctioned races they met all the regulations needed. Come on sore losers buck up and step up to the plate an realize you were out raced by the Aston Martin team. Be losers with dignity! quit looking for excuses.
To read more on the transparent efforts of the Barwell team regarding the performance of the bio-ethanol car. And their ability to meet championship scrutineers compliance with the technical regulations.
